FCT College of Nursing: applications close in days, then you sit an exam
Applications close September 17, 2026
The screening exam runs 21 to 25 September. That’s four days between the two, so nothing can be left until after you apply.
Last checked: 9 September 2026
This is the tightest timeline of any school we’ve written up this session. Applications opened on 3 September and close on the 17th, and the exam starts four days later. If you’re reading this in the first half of September, applying is the urgent thing and preparing is what you do in the gap.
Be clear about what the 21st actually is: a Post-UTME screening exam that you sit, covering English Language, Biology and Current Affairs. It’s not a document review and it’s not an interview about your paperwork. Biology is the one people expect. Current Affairs is the one that catches candidates who prepared as though this were a science test alone.
What you actually need
- Applications
- September 3 to 17, 2026.
- Screening exam
- September 21 to 25, 2026. Four days after applications close.
- Minimum UTME score
- At least 180.
- First choice
- The college has to be your first choice. That’s set on your JAMB profile, not on the college’s form.
- Fee
- ₦5,200, paid to the college directly. That’s their fee, not a Sagetech charge.
- What the exam covers
- English Language, Biology, and Current Affairs, among others. It’s a real exam, not a document review.
Is the college actually your first choice?
Check this today rather than on the 17th. First choice is a condition of being considered at all, and it lives on your JAMB profile, not on the college’s application. A candidate who clears 180 with another institution sitting in first place hasn’t met the requirement. If you’re not certain what your profile says, message us before the window closes.
Score at or just above 180?
180 is the minimum to be considered, and nursing places are contested. Meeting the floor and being competitive aren’t the same thing, and with an exam feeding into the decision your position depends on more than the UTME number. If you’re close to the line, get an honest read before you pay the ₦5,200.
One honest caveat
Dates this tight sometimes shift, and pages online, including this one, can go stale fast. This one was last checked on 9 September 2026. If anything has changed since, message us and we’ll confirm where things actually stand before you act on it.
Where people actually get this wrong
Two ways, mostly. Meeting the 180 and never checking first choice, which is the condition that decides everything else and isn’t set where you’d expect. And treating the 21st as a formality, then finding out in the hall that Current Affairs was on the paper. Leaving documents until after the 17th is the third, and four days is not long enough to fix a missing one.
Message us if the college isn’t your first choice yet
That one setting decides whether anything else on this page applies to you, and the window closes on 17 September. Tell us where you are and we’ll tell you what has to happen before then. If you want us to handle the application, that’s Post-UTME / School Application Assistance, ₦3,500 plus the college’s own ₦5,200 fee.
We reply 8am to 8pm, every day.
