FULAFIA Post-UTME: you didn’t miss it

If you’ve been refreshing the FULAFIA portal convinced you missed 30 August, you didn’t. Screening was extended to September 20, 2026, and that’s the date that governs you now.

The extension exists for a reason, and knowing it tells you whether you’re the person it was meant for. FULAFIA pushed the date back for candidates still waiting on results that hadn’t arrived: 2026 NECO, IJMB, and JAMB Institutional Transfer. This isn’t a general grace period. It’s a window held open for people whose paperwork was outside their control.

What you actually need

General cutoff

At least 170.

MBBS cutoff

At least 230.

Screening closes

September 20, 2026. It was originally 30 August. As of 9 September 2026, the later date stands.

Who the extension is for

Candidates waiting on 2026 NECO results, IJMB results, or a JAMB Institutional Transfer.

Institutional Transfer

That window closed on September 7, 2026. The screening extension did not reopen it.

Does the extension actually cover you?

The date isn’t in question. What’s worth checking is whether the thing you’re waiting on is one of the things the extension was for. Institutional Transfer is the one to watch, because it already closed on 7 September. If your transfer was still being processed when that passed, don’t assume. Message us and we’ll tell you where you stand.

Sitting near 170, or near 230 for MBBS?

Clearing 170 makes you eligible to be considered. It doesn’t mean your department will take a candidate at 170 this session, and competitive departments routinely admit well above the published figure. If your score is close to the line, don’t guess. Message us before you pay.

One honest caveat

Deadlines like this move, and pages online, including this one, can go stale fast. This one was last checked on 9 September 2026. If anything has changed since, message us and we’ll confirm where things actually stand before you act on it.

Where people actually get this wrong

An extension is time, and time gets used badly the moment a deadline stops feeling urgent. The result you’re waiting on has to reach your JAMB profile, not just your hand, and that step disqualifies more candidates than any cutoff does. Add a subject combination that doesn’t line up with the course, or documents assembled in the last week instead of the first, and 20 September arrives with nothing finished.
