NSUK Post-UTME: two deadlines fall on the same day

If you applied to NSUK, you have until September 30, 2026 to complete screening. Two other things are true about NSUK this session, and either one can cost you a place even if you make that date.

What you actually need

Screening window

July 17 to September 30, 2026.

Screening fee

₦2,000, paid to the university directly. That’s NSUK’s fee, not a Sagetech charge.

Cutoff

Between 160 and 200, set per programme. The figure that governs you is your programme’s, not the lowest one published.

Mass Communication

No longer offered as one degree. It’s now Journalism and Media Studies, Broadcasting, or Public Relations, and you have to pick one.

Estate Management

Not offered at NSUK at all. Affected candidates switch to Building Technology or Architecture.

These are two deadlines, not one

September 30, 2026 is the last day of NSUK’s Post-UTME screening. September 30, 2026 is also the day of the JAMB pending-offer purge, which is a national JAMB process and has nothing to do with NSUK.

NSUK screening is something you do at NSUK, with NSUK’s fee. The JAMB purge is JAMB clearing offers that candidates have left sitting unaccepted on the central platform. Doing one doesn’t do the other. If you’re not certain which of the two you’ve actually handled, don’t assume you’ve handled both.

Applied for Mass Comm or Estate Management?

Then you have to change course, and it’s on you to do it. Mass Communication has been split into Journalism and Media Studies, Broadcasting, and Public Relations, so there’s no longer a Mass Communication to be admitted into. Estate Management isn’t offered at all, and the courses to switch into are Building Technology or Architecture.

Which one you pick decides which cutoff applies to you and whether your O’Level subjects still line up. Those three Mass Comm courses aren’t interchangeable, and Building Technology and Architecture ask for different things. Score somewhere between 160 and 200?

The band is wide, and where you sit inside it matters far more than clearing the bottom of it. A 165 that clears one programme’s figure won’t clear another’s. If your score is in the middle, confirm your programme’s specific cutoff before 30 September rather than after.

One honest caveat

Deadlines and course lists both move, and pages online, including this one, can go stale fast. This one was last checked on 9 September 2026. If anything has changed since, message us and we’ll confirm where things actually stand before you act on it.

Where people actually get this wrong

Almost none of it is about ability. It’s treating 30 September as one deadline instead of two. It’s assuming a course that no longer exists will quietly become its nearest replacement. It’s reading “160 to 200” and hearing 160. And it’s paying the ₦2,000 before checking any of the above, which is the one that costs money as well as the place.
