Veritas Post-UTME: you have more time than you think

If you landed here in a panic because other schools are closing this month, take the pressure down a little. Veritas isn’t on the same clock. FUTMINNA closes on 20 September and NSUK on the 30th, and those are hard walls. This is a longer road, and it would be wrong for this page to make you feel otherwise.

The cutoff is 170. That much is settled. The part we can’t settle is what screening costs, and since that’s a payment you’re about to make, it gets its own section below rather than a footnote.

Admission window

Rolling, tentatively into late November 2026. Tentatively is the accurate word: it’s an expectation, not a fixed published date.

Late entry

Veritas has historically continued late-entry screening up to matriculation, later still.

Cutoff

At least 170.

Screening fee

Not stated here. Sources disagree between ₦4,500 and ₦7,000, and we won’t print a number we can’t stand behind when you’re about to pay it.

Don’t pay a fee we can’t confirm

There’s one thing about Veritas we won’t state, and it’s the number you’d most want stated. Sources disagree on the screening fee. We found ₦4,500 in some places and ₦7,000 in others, and that’s not a rounding difference.

Printing either would be worse than printing neither. Say ₦4,500 and the real fee is ₦7,000, and you budget wrong. Say ₦7,000 and it’s ₦4,500, and we’ve told you a private university costs more than it does, which makes anyone quoting the true figure look suspicious. Confirm the current fee before you transfer anything.

How long is the window really open?

Late November is an expectation drawn from how Veritas has run admissions before, and late entry has historically continued to matriculation. Neither is a date the university has fixed for this session. Rolling also means it can close when the places fill rather than when the calendar says. If you plan to use the extra time, it’s worth knowing how much of it there actually is.

One honest caveat

A rolling window is the hardest kind to write down, because there’s no single date to be right or wrong about. This page was last checked on 9 September 2026. If you’ve been told a firm Veritas closing date or a firm fee, message us and we’ll check it before you act on it.

Where people actually get this wrong

A longer window is only an advantage if you use it as one. Rolling admission rewards candidates who apply early into it and quietly penalises the ones who read “November” and stop thinking about it in September. Places fill as they’re offered. The other mistake is treating Veritas as a safe fallback while a public university decides, then finding out in October that the fallback filled up in September.
